MedicalDirector and HotDoc Partner to Boost Patient Engagement

MedicalDirector and HotDoc have today announced a partnership to deliver a Patient Engagement Solution to healthcare professionals across Australia. Focusing on fostering patient loyalty, the partnership will give HotDoc customers with MedicalDirector software access to HotDoc’s Engagement Suite directly in their workflow. The solution is integrated into Pracsoft and Clinical, and will soon be available in MedicalDirector’s cloud-based clinical and practice management software, Helix.

As part of the new partnership, MedicalDirector customers will be able to sign up to a range of products that enable GPs to engage with their patients more effectively, while helping to create efficiencies within the clinic. HotDoc’s patient engagement products include Online Bookings, Check- in Kiosk, SMART Recalls, SMART Reminders, Repeats and Inform. In addition, the partnership will soon offer free In-App Appointment Reminders, which can be sent automatically to patients who have downloaded the HotDoc app.

HotDoc CEO, Dr Ben Hurst, believes mobile app engagement will become a core part of the patient experience over the coming years. “Free appointment reminders are just the start, we’re also planning to develop a way for practices to securely transmit recalls, results and patient education to the HotDoc app.”

GM of Marketplace, MedicalDirector, Sarah Pinchbeck, said the company is proud to welcome HotDoc as one of its accredited secure online patient engagement partners.

We’re thrilled to partner with HotDoc and combine our technologies to assist general practices with patient engagement.” Ms Pinchbeck said. “Beyond a partnership of technologies, HotDoc’s practice- centric philosophy, which focuses on patient loyalty, was a significant drawcard for MedicalDirector.

“I hope our customers will be as excited as we are about the potential of technology to streamline day-to-day elements of general practice,” she added.

Both Dr Hurst and Ms Pinchbeck noted that the partnership builds on the strengths of both companies and is a big win for practices and patients alike.

“MedicalDirector is a great solution for what happens inside the practice, while HotDoc is a great solution for the what happens outside the practice,” Dr Hurst said. “We believe that HotDoc’s mobile capability and patient engagement is going to be a real value add to the MedicalDirector platform.”

“Partnering with MedicalDirector will enable us to further innovate patient engagement solutions to ensure medical centres around Australia are able to deliver the best possible patient experience,” he added.
